Help getting Covert Operator patches installed correctly

Post by glsimonsen » Thu Aug 11, 2005 12:23 am

Excuse the dumb question, but I can't get the Covert patches to show up in the Operator preset list. in OSX i put the Covert folder in User/lib/App. support/Ableton/Live 4.1/User Presets. The Presets window was empty, there was no "Operator" as the readme.txt said. So, I put the Covert folder in Presets.

So, the presets do show up in my browser, but not in the Operator's preset list and it's an awkward way to get to them. They sound interesting. Thanks, Glenn

Operator folder location

I had the same situation. The install located all of my presets to a folder called "Library" in an Ableton folder in My Documents in Windows XP. I extracted the Covert Operators file into the Operator file in the Library folder and they are showing up in the right place in the browser.

These two responses confuse two versions of Live.

Live 4 uses the Presets folder, as the first post mentions. Do use the Covert Ops presets, you can create an Operator folder in your Presets folder, and in there you can put the covert ops presets, and they should show up in Operator.

The second post refers to Live 5 which uses a Library. However, the Library did not exist in Live 4.

Hope that clarifies.

In Live 4 you cannot have a folder inside the Operator folder. That's why you cannot see the presets. Just put all of the Covert Operators presets directly in the Operator folder. That should set you up.

User/lib/App. support/Ableton/Live 4.1/User Presets./Operator/

move all user presets into this folder

Thanks for that further clarification, Mike. One question - is the number of presets then limited to 128 presets in Live 4?
