An arrangement from arrangements.....

Probably an obvious question to you guys but I just want to check something if possible.

I’ve made a few tracks using Live 9, Sylenth & samples. I have literally just got into this so naturally they improve with each one that I have done as I am learning. So I’ve got to the mixdown stage on each and managed to get everything sounding pretty good without the master or any of the tracks clipping into the red. All four tracks have been exported to WAV files.

Next step for me was to add all four WAVs to a new live set, arrange them in order then automate the EQ’s etc to create a mixed set with track markers. Unfortunately all four tracks sound dreadful – terrible clipping and over compressed – even when the volume of each is reduced.

Listening to the completed tracks in Ableton sounded fine when listening to the finished tracks and I have added each to Traktor Pro and have been able to mix them perfectly well in the traditional sense through a mixer – no audible sound issues at all?

I can record them as a set in Traktor but is there any reason that it sounds so terrible in Live? Is my idea of how to create an ‘album’ out of them in Ableton flawed? Is it that the original composition and mixdowns of the tracks was inadequate?...

Any thoughts?

Pauly
