Live >9.1 + Mavericks upgrade?

Post by Khazul » Sun Feb 16, 2014 9:36 am

How are people currently getting on with mavericks on 2011 machines with ATI GPUs (mine is MBP17, 8GB, quad core i7)? Are there still a lot of headaches with live/plugins? 32/64 bit live make any difference?

Particularly interested to hear from anyone using Max for Live (can live without for now), NI Komplete 8, Traktor 2 (scratch), RME audio interfaces (UFX on USB) NI audio interfaces (2DJ, 10DJ), plugins from SPL, waves, celemony melodyne, fabfilter, spectrasonics, refx, D16, sylenth1 and anything that uses ilock or steinberg dongles (have to use both).

Just wondering if its worth upgrading yet :)

same machine as you here. if you're on 10.8, i'd say stick with it. i only upgraded to 10.9 when i did a clean system reinstall last week, and haven't seen any benefit at all.

hello

i've got the exact same mbp model as you with 16gb of ram, running live as 32 bit (hate jbridge solution) but no NI complete, traktor.
Definitely seeing beach balls at random times which last for a second or so, but all m4l devices, spectrasonics plugs, reactor etc work fine.
Also the indexing process keeps crashing but that is due to it not being able to ignore files not relevant to live (wtf?)

best regards
