Ableton Index (not responding)

Post by Deetr » Thu Feb 27, 2014 3:39 pm

Hello,

Has anyone ever checked the 'Activity Monitor' and got: Ableton index (not responding) (osx: 10.9.1 MacBook Pro mid2010, 8gb ram, 128gb ssd).

Ableton 32bit 9.1.1

Seems like my fan is ALWAYS cooling .. The CPU = 21%..

What seems to be the officer, problem? :|

thnx!

Don't worry about it, the Indexer is still working, it's just a display problem ;-)

Cheers

Reply from Ableton support:

Hello -----,

Thank you for getting in touch with Ableton Support.

We are sorry to hear about your issues with Ableton Live.

The fan noise sounds pretty much like an hardware issue you should further investigate on the Apple forums, I am afraid.

The "Indexer not responding" is a known issue with Mavericks, explained more detailed in this article:
https://www.ableton.com/en/articles/indexer-appnap/

Basically it is wrong information you get from your Activity Monitor.

Should the test explained in the article not work, it could be another reason.

In this case please get back to us and we will have a look into your Report.

Hopefully this helps.

If you have further questions, please feel free to get back to us at any time.

Best Regards,
