Need some advice FAST - recording in an hour

Post by Dean09 » Mon Mar 03, 2014 10:22 pm

Hi, I am recording our singer again tonight. On one of the songs he is having trouble with the highest notes. Is there a simple way to transpose down the AUDIO tracks by say a whole step. record his parts and then transpose back up? There are probably 10 music audio tracks

Thank you very much!!!

Select all the audio clips, and simply use the transpose knob to go down two semitones (-2), in the clip detail view. You might wanna turn on Complex Pro warp mode (it's on Beat warp mode by default) to have better interpolation.

Record the singer. Then transpose everything up two semitones. The thing is, no matter what you do, he might sound a bit funny and affected transposed up. Two semitones isn't much though, you MAY get away with it...

Yes, you can select multiple clips in session view and adjust their transposition all at once. Use Ctrl of Shift and select yes. To access clip view to actually change the transposition, you can use the Shift+Tab shortcut to switch to the correct view.

Do a "save as" to create a new version of the project, and experiment or setup the changes a head of time.

Nothing worse than having someone looking over your shoulder impatiently waiting for you to make changes like that.
