Which is why Apple is now creaming Microsoft. Those iPads can't even run windows!

Well this is the iPad thread and that is taken from an Apple fan site forum, but when you take Apple out of the direct argument it is kind of interesting (disturbing) how some people are smugly proud of being cheap bastards and quality and long term use isn’t a concern to them. The most annoying part about their smugness is thinking anybody who cares about those things is a hypnotized asshole.
An argument was raised that some people just can’t afford quality. I respect that but I also don’t think the poor are the ones wanting to have a self back patting parade in honor of their cheap genius.

in the same article, shortly after the first rant implicating Americans... someone chimes in about the good people of another unsuspecting entirety... i think the real observation here is classic case of knowledge vs. wisdom and/or sheep watching with rose colored glasses pointed at greener grasses.
in other words; i call bullshit. cheap motherfuckers are a global phenomenon.

No, it's just an American thing. This guy here, for example, only drinks Starbucks lattes:
Goddamn snob, if you ask me.

I think it’s also a problem of the disappearing middle class. Around here they frequently take a single home property, tear it down, and then erect 6 small condos on the same lot with no yards. Then whoever signs the dotted line for one of those properties can go “I’m a home owner!” 10 years ago that would have been considered an apartment you would have been renting while saving up for a big boy house. But hey, enjoy the fact that you can’t completely open your master bedroom door because your queen size bed takes up 9/10ths of the room.
“I’ve got the best cheap cell phone on the market! I’m convincing myself there isn’t any actual reason it’s cheap!”

Microsoft's Satya Nadella speaking now. Looks like an iPad on the table.

Office for the iPad. Awesome, until we hear about the pricing.

we have Microsoft volume licensing at the office. while logging into the site the other day to get a key for Office 2013 for someone, i found that Office 2011 Mac was available for download on the site. when i installed it at home, it didn't even ask for a key.
very affordable in my experience.
