track selection .. hmm?

maybe a noob question here - but its driving me a bit crazy:

i am using an external synth and with an audio track and also have a midi track record-enabled to send midi from the push ( i know there is the external instrument plug, but i want to record the midi too).

whenever i select either the midi track or the audio track this de-enables "record" on that track and i have to re-enable them both every time (shift+both top buttons).

is there any other way to select a track without de-selecting all record-enabled tracks?

Preferences > exclusive arm off.
BTW, Push really makes difficult to deal with this kind of simple things.

Is there a way to lock push to one track from push ?

Its really hard to play push while tweaking send effects since push will anytime loose the focus
