Also I think it acts differently if you've mapped the preview to a controller or something, can't remember now. I've pulled the review for the time being anyway for various reasons. I can't comment on Ableton any more as Bitwig don't seem to like me comparing Bitwig Studio with Live.

Re: The Bitwig evaluation thread
Looks like Bitwig has asked funken to stop comparing BWS and Live on his website and the KVR forum.

Hmm, didn't know Bitwig owns KVR and Funkens website as well now - because how else could they tell someone what to say or what to compare...?

More than likely by saying "stop doing this or we're going to disassociate ourselves from you the best we can like Ableton did and then you'll have to find another hobby."beatz01 wrote:Hmm, didn't know Bitwig owns KVR and Funkens website as well now - because how else could they tell someone what to say or what to compare...?

Well of course we're only reading what funken claims they told him.
I'm sure it was more along the lines of "your pandering to us and badmouthing of Live in the form of a 'review', especially in light of your history with Ableton, is making us look bad. Please stop."

I'm talking about bitwig. Their attitude is pretty shitty. I think most things said (with few exceptions) come with the territory. They clearly don't
But the their credit, they are putting out bug fixes like there is no tomorrow so at least they are focused on their work. Makes you think, if they'd have gone public beta before the big release they'd have avoided some the negative reputation they already have. All that waiting and they are updating at a record pace. For people that don't care about the company or like being treated like a pile of shit, it will probably be cool.

It was probably because of the things he said, and the amount of people he pissed off in this thread where he went under the alias kennyda:stringtapper wrote:Well of course we're only reading what funken claims they told him.

I knew who you were talking about. That's why I pointed out that we were only going off what someone else claimed their reason was.eyeknow wrote:I'm talking about bitwig. Their attitude is pretty shitty. I think most things said (with few exceptions) come with the territory. They clearly don't![]()

Yeah I went there specifically to let people know that his weird "review" was most likely a result of his being banned here.kb420 wrote:It was probably because of the things he said, and the amount of people he pissed off in this thread where he went under the alias kennyda:stringtapper wrote:Well of course we're only reading what funken claims they told him.

As far as the actual program goes I've tested it a bit and there's some cool stuff but not enough for me to spend more time learning it. I don't view software usage as an either/or prospect. I own a PS4 and Xbox One after all.
When the modular environment is opened up and fully operational (and they finally have the educational discount) in version 2.0 then I will most likely get it just to play with that.

Re: The Bitwig evaluation thread
I'm not confident when I look at what the expect for the future of bitwig:
"OUR VISION"
INTEGRATED MODULAR SYSTEM
this is ok for sure but everything that comes after hmmm
NETWORK SYNC + ONLINE COLLABORATION
they are on their way for an epic fail with their own version of the never happened SHARE feature of ableton live.
I'm glad developers are working to help musicians compose with mac+pc/pc+pc/mac+mac via lan
But I first wanna have some basic features that are really helping composers in their work.
not extra stuff/
Focusing on social music networking is not a good aim... overall when I see the rudimentary actual state of bitwig.
V1 it is quite natural it is not perfect and it lacks a lot of things.
Long live to every daw, as long as they are listening to the audience [aka the user base]
EDIT: quick note about bw kvr forum.
I mostly see fanatics arguing new comers.
good start for the bw community, someone go there to post his impressions on the demo and he almost got flamed few posts later.
Bw fan users told him why he was using bw if he preferd ableton.
he logicaly answered he was testing the demo, nothing more.
brrrrrrr not very joyful

And that is the problem. I've pulled out of buttwig threads almost everywhere and will continue to wean myself off of these. I sense frustration by the fanbois/company and will likely not ever venture my capital at them (though I reserve the right to be wrong)
It's still relevant here for now.

Re: The Bitwig evaluation thread
I'm with the Guy's(or Gals) who said they should have done a public beta. To me that smacks of arrogance in the first place. Granted a lot of other platforms are released without them but their hype was no where near Bitwig. When your trying to unseat Live you better make damn sure you put out a good first impression. I'm also with the folk's that say just because they are hotfixing pretty quick means it definitely "Ain't ready for prime-time".
Why would anyone drop 400 bucks on a promise that they will eventually get around to adding critical functions later, that falls into the paid beta tester category.
I'm not biting.

Yeah that's better. Looks to me by the polls here I'm not alone... I hope Bitwig is watching, I mean just because they left the company and blazed their own trail into Live territory with their new wonder app doesn't mean they have to give up their forum membership here.eyeknow wrote:I fixed that, for you!cstump wrote:
