Hey All,
I've been trying to re-create "Leave home" by chemical bros from scratch and cant figure out how they got the vocal sampled so clean?
I have the original track that they sampled but I can't get the vocal clean enough - there is always drums or synth bits, I've tried;
- Finding all instances of the vocal in the track
- Selective EQ
- Volume Cuts
- Inversion/Utility
But I still end up with synth and percussion parts in the background. The inversion trick cancelled out the Kick drum, but I can still hear hihats.
in the chem bros version it is clean??? how???
are there any other ways to separate vocals? how on earth did the chemical brothers do it?
Apparently it was a sample off this blake Baxter track, so this is what i've been working with;

Re: how to sample vocals like the chemical bros?
there are 3 versions of that track listed on the label. one is 'brothapella'.
i'd assume that's the acapella version they sampled.
