Death In Vegas - what is this synth bassline sound?
Death In Vegas - what is this synth bassline sound?
So I love the synth bassline on this, any ideas? I keep thinking it's 303 or something, but I'd love some pointers.... :

Dont think it's 303 tbh.
Analog, 2 OSC, one sine and one triangle would be a start.

Yeah, I've been trying the one sine/one triangle this afternoon... just not getting it.Daniel_S wrote:Dont think it's 303 tbh.

Any particular starter points in say, Sylenth, Trilian, Ableton..?

You should be able to get something pretty close in any synth to be honest.krautrock wrote:Yeah, I've been trying the one sine/one triangle this afternoon... just not getting it.Daniel_S wrote:Dont think it's 303 tbh.

I'd use Analog, only cause that's what I feel most comfortable in.

I loaded up my fm app and came close. I'm sure you could substitute what I did by using detuned (or unison) squares with a very light amount of LP filtering.
I used one sine OSC operator as default and a modulator OSC (also sine) set to 2nd overtone with feedback cranked up. Then I just automated the envelope on it. And I got a modulated sort of dirty filters square sound.
Then I raised or lowered the level of the feedback modulator. Made sure I had some kind of unison or chorus. And add a form of saturation/distortion.
But. I didn't put a lot of thought into making it sound identical. Just a rough approximation
