the command has no documentation, and it seems to be somewhat arbitrary as far as when we can use this command and when we cant
ie. its greyed out more often than not, in situations where we need it. if it follows any kind of logic, i havent been able to find one so far, so im reporting it as a bug.
it has some important ramificiations because:
how exactly do you set the loop to a desired area on the fly ...ie. while the current track is playing and we have only moments to set it up in a pressure situation ,,, without the clip playing (because the 'set' controls are greyed out)
right now you cant do it without the clip playing - or switching over to envelope view (which we usually take off while playing to conserve valuable screen space) - or without zooming all over and dragging bracket markers that dont snap to the grid easily
so without this command you dont do it, and so preparing loops easily in this situation is still problematic.
lack of a quick way to find and set the end marker also comes into play here, but apparently an ALT-click command to set end marker falls under feature request rather than bug, so we'll keep bothering you about it on the wishlist forum
