Hey Abes. What about this?
maybe you could add a groove extraction feature that would allow the user to analyze a midi or audio file, and then determine the groove of a clip? Then, you could take a straight warped clip and apply the groove template to it!

I have changed my username; Now posting as:

Could groove be created by using warp marker/start point envelopes. Like you have the clip of so and so's drumming in session, you have the clip you want to groove underneath, zoom both nice and big and mess with the warp markers of the straight clip until the hits line up. I know that not instant and you couldn't scroll through a lot of options sequentially, if its a dumb idea kick my ass.
