Recording notes in arrangement from push?

Post by rekloos » Thu May 08, 2014 5:12 pm

I'm sure I just don't see it in the manual but how the hell do you record on the fly with push?
If I have a midi track and live is running in arrangement view, when I press on record button
on push it records a new clip in session - anyway of making it
record in arrangement?

There are two kinds of record. Session record which the rec on Push manages. And then Arrangement record which is on the top of the Live screen (or F9).

Yessir. Get PXT-Live. Record in arrangement. Use & edit locators, zoom, etcetera, etcetera.....

Rew/Ffw (Encoder 1) will rewind/fastforward by 1 Beat or 1 Bar if the Shift button is pressed.

Locator (Encoder 2) will navigate between Arrangement Locators. Holding down the Shift button and turning Encoder 2 will add a Locator at the current position or delete the Locator at the current position if one exists.

LoopStrt and LoopLen (Encoder 3 and Encoder 4) will adjust Arrangement Loop Start and Length by 1 Beat or 1 Bar if the Shift button is pressed.

Loop (Encoder 5) will turn Arrangement Loop on/off.

H Zoom or H Nav (Encoder 6) will zoom horizontally in Arrangement View or navigate Tracks in Session View.

V Zoom or V Nav (Encoder 7) will zoom the selected Track vertically in Arrangement View or navigate Scenes in Session View. Holding down the Shift button and turning Encoder 7 will vertically zoom all Tracks in Arrangement View.

Groove (Encoder Eight) adjusts Global Groove Amount.

nihtscope, I do have pxt-live and it works great but you have to switch between user mode for engaging recording then push mode for playing notes, no?
shift-record should've been there from the beginning, I really don't get it.... maybe I need to look into modding
the push script.

Stray modified the factory Push script to include Shift + Rec = Arrangement Record quite awhile ago.

You can download the latest version which works with 9.1.2, it helps a lot.
