SOLVED: Trigger Maschine Scenes with MIDI notes

Post by RDP » Wed May 21, 2014 1:46 pm

SOLVED: Ok, this sent me for a spin. When they say C-2 to trigger Scene 1, that's what they mean. It's C MINUS 2, not C HYPHEN 2. This is so way down note wise that my access virus won't even go there with the keyboard shifted to it's lowest setting. No wonder I couldn't find it.... now drawing in the notes directly into the piano roll.

Obviously I am not reading up properly or watching the videos available correctly.

Problem: Trying to trigger Maschine 2.1.0 scenes using MIDI notes from LIVE 9.

So, seems Maschine 2.0 operation is a bit different than most of the older videos and forum messages on the topic, so I went to the 2.0 Manual and did what it said:

To enable or disable the Scene MIDI Change feature, do the following:
1. In the MASCHINE Header, click the cog wheel icon.
This opens the following menu:
2. Click MIDI Scene Change from the menu.
3. In the submenu that opens, select MIDI Note to trigger your Scenes via MIDI notes, Program
Change to trigger your Scenes via MIDI Program Change messages, or None (default
setting) to disable Scene MIDI Change completely.

So, I have done this and have the midi clip tracks in the track that the Maschine plug in is on in Ableton. No good. So I duplicated the midi clip tracks onto a midi track in Ableton and sent the Midi to Maschine. No good either.

I really must be missing a very simple point. I just don't know what the point is....
