WHATS WRONG WITH THAT TOM WHY DO YOU HAVE TO MAKE HIM FEEL SO UNCOMFORTABLE
Notice how his answer was basically confirming my suspicion?! Saying "I throw out questions that you can then all write long posts to for many pages, so I can learn" Is just changing the words from "for my amusement" to "for me to learn". But in the end it comes down to letting us dance for his benefit. That's wrong in the Audio section and it's not nice here either.

I'm of the opinion that when you start a thread, that you are also responsible for it. That means saying "thank you for your help" in the Audio section, and to keep a discussion interesting by participating in the Lounge.
And even if we take the "I want to learn" position at face value, how better to learn then to engage the other posters about what they wrote?!
And what really is there to "learn" about why there are forum wars and if we want Funken to come back?! I'm not buying it.

And if my opinion makes him feel uncomfortable then that's on him not on me, because he asked for it in the first place.

I don't think there's anything wrong with starting a discussion and then not participating it. Maybe the guy just wants to know?

Well, but for me it feels very different to have a discussion about books that influenced me and others, than to just pour my heart/mind out for someone "who wants to know". If that's the position he takes, then my answer would be: It's none of your business, you nosy...ehm...person.

But while it does annoy me, it's really not such a big deal. I don't want to keep on dissing TheNobelNemesis here. (...and by that confirm the general opinion people have of me on here)
So, sorry for the shit stirring.

Hey Tom I just want to make sure you know that the 2nd part I wrote in caps was joking around, I was hoping the all caps part might elude to that but I just want to make sure but if you did already know that then you must've gained a few pounds and thanks for not leaving.

BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

When I partcipate too much, i'm being annoying...
When i'm not participating enough, i'm "making you dance for my amusement"

There's no fucking winning with you, is there, Tom?

Seriously, I don't understand why you feel the need to be mean to me for not posting enough on an audio forum!
I don't get you folk. I can see why so many people on this forum have left; because people like you are mean to them for the dumbest reasons.
I'm getting sick of your shit especially, Tom. You have criticized every little thing i've done ever since i've met you on this forum. I'm sure you're a chill guy, Tom, but why you gotta be like this?
Maybe my participation isn't up to par with yours, but that doesn't justify being outright rude to me.

That's probably my bad. It was inevitable though.

Still, given my increase in mature behavior over the past couple of years, controversial threads that I participate in will continue to have a significantly higher shelf life.

I'm pretty sure it was that horseshit comment.

Hey slate I randomly came across a vid on YT the other day and I figured you were the guy because 'he' mentioned the Banjo Draggers.
It was demonstrating the one string bass and FCB1010 in a conference room. Cool stuff!

Sorry.

I'm a argumentative person and Shadx got me to defend my position (I actually thought the all caps means emphasis or anger).

My goal was certainly not to get you to post less, but rather more.
I stick to the position I have, but apologize for the antagonizing tone.

And that annoying remark was for threads that seemed shit stirring motivated at the time. And you do have to admit that "Do you want Funken back", is kind of a strange thread topic for a Noob on the forum that signed up after Funken had already left.

So yeah, I can see why you think that there is no winning with me, but I also think that I have a right to express my opinions and I don't see myself as being mean, but that my criticism is always well supported by my expressed rational and I'm always willing to change my opinion and admit that I was wrong, if I'm shown such.

So please don't leave or be frustrated or think that I'm some sort of forum enemy for you, but don't expect me to be a cuddly nice guy either, that's just not who I am.
Cheers

I'm sad, because I think it was a good thread (one of the best in recent forum history) and unless something happened after my last post, I didn't see anything in it that deserved a thread disappearance :-(

Yeah it's become popular now unfortunately, like hating on Americans was for a bit. And even though people need to get it out of their system, and even if it's true, it can get old hearing about it:/ Kinda hard not to knock it at this point though (congress)

But hey that's what comedy is for....if you can joke about stereotypes the right way, I don' think it should be so offensive, unless one is uptight.
(I actually thought the all caps means emphasis or anger)
It does, but it was jokingly.

haha yeah cheers that's me in real life and everything, fucking around in corporate environments as usual, i know the feller who runs the new ableton-live-expert site and he wanted to interview me.

after the interview i played around some more and did this : https://vimeo.com/91791306

sometimes i think it's weird that i know quite a lot of people on this forum to varying degrees but only know what one or two look like in real life at all

and i think my t shirt was a bit tight in that clip :x
