i noticed the recent religion thread has gone the way of the ancients.
I was surprised it took that long
it was a good thread for 5 or 6 pages. i only know what i saw last... who knows what the final straw was. maybe they were working on PDC and during a break they finally strutted into The Lounge. :x

Ok so, the latest crazy brat shooting made me think about my own wacky behavior on here which can be over the top sometimes though I intend it as entertainment value. A couple things though.

Regardless of whether the thread deletion was going to happen at some point or not is no excuse to make statements worthy of getting the thread deleted, though I had no intent of getting it deleted, I was careless.

Specifically, Tom mentioned being upset with a certain historical figure for not teaching a certain wisdom in which I replied that maybe he did but it was not written because that would take the power away from the middleman (it's kinda funny, I quoted 'half of writing history is hiding the truth', in a thread that no longer exists).

It serves as an example that sometimes my noisiness can be destructive and not just to threads. I can have some arrogance and insensitivity sometimes; I may give myself an excuse rationalizing it as 'tough love' but that isn't really healthy is it? It also seems to attract characters who seem to be going through some kind of trouble and though they may be mean I see it as a call for help and I genuinely hope that, in general, if anyone has a problem in some way that they express it (with words) as directly and honestly as they can so as to try and find the most peaceful solution as possible.

Yes, I may frequently use this forum to channel petty grievances that I may not even feel the same about days later, but they are just that, petty. But, if I hurt someone's feelings I do not see that as petty, nor do I think of anyone as petty. When things are all fine and good we can give each other some shit from time to time, and I would never even wish to have a grievance with anyone. At the worst I went a little batshit when it came to funken but hey, you need to know when to stfu. I wouldn't even wish the worst on him, though.

That said, sorry for getting threads deleted and causing some people to leave and attracting others to cause trouble.
I will make an effort to be more proper.

Peace

PS I do not mult and seriously I am not that invested, I do live outside the forum. I only temporarily harbored MONGO: THE SENSITIVE CAVEMAN for comedic purposes but that MONGO does not seem to exist anymore.

Your post is making me genuinely curious what happened in that thread after I had posted last. Damn different time zones :x

I would not necessarily have disagreed with that.
One should not forget that the actual influence of Jesus on chistian dogma is very small. After he had died he was mostly forgotten except for a few people playing chinese wisphers with his myth for about 300 years.
I don't see why you would need to apologize for that statement,

Yeah that whole mess was not one of my proudest moments on here either, but man he could get one frustrated.

Are you sure it had anything to do with you?
I could imagine the mods just don't check the Lounge that often so that the thread slipped through for a couple of days. Once they saw the thread titel contained the word Religion, they just deleted it. Probably without even reading it.

Not knowing what you actually posted in that thread, I still think you are not known for posting "improper".

The fact that I was once hurt by one of your posts has nothing to do with improper posting, but with me thinking: Great, now even the last person on here is sick of me, it'd be better to leave.
(And I didn't stick to that resolve for long as you see ;-))

I have a 11 month old German Shepard named Kaya. He is such a healing presence in my life, he saves me from my self and from my NJ mannerisms, that can easily offend people, resulting in misunderstanding and potential conflict. I can't think of any other living thing that I can be a dick, obnoxious, condescending, belligerent, and occasionally slap around, and at the end of the day he loves me unconditionally. Even my cats are quick to hold a grudge and make me compete for their attention. My kids and wife would have been long gone....
Puppies for all!
YMMV.

I unfortunately live in an appartment building, so getting a semi big dog would be torture to the dog and I just HATE small dogs (and mostly the humans that come with them too :x )

The deletion may had nothing to do with me, but it must have been one of the last posts and I made a comment saying along the lines of 'fecal book = fecal writers', and that may count as delete-worthy.

Anyway Tom, maybe you're putting too much stress on your self and what others think of you, mostly assuming what others think of you Don't forget how many people said they didn't want you to leave. There's a huge difference between some heated words and how much someone really feels about that person.

I'm pretty much the same way when it comes to pets. And I also find small dogs annoying. I'm a farm dog kind of guy. If they can't have room to run around I'd consider it torture, even in a mid-sized house. Or basically if it doesn't have a place to crap somewhere outside without needing me to accompany it or worry about anyone stepping in it or having to clean it up, then it isn't worth it. I don't believe part of the human story involves having to pick up poop unless it's a profession. It makes sense in a city, but still.

Coming back to religion: There must be a special place in hell reserved for owners of small dogs.

I mean it's already a mean trick to play on the little fellas, to trap them in those little bodies while they still want to hang with the big dogs. But then to give 'em all these cute names and accessories and even stylish clothing to rub it in, just to show how much control you can have over something too... :x
I would probably bark and snap at everything moving as well, if I'd be treated like that!

Hi everyone – we need to clarify some conduct guidelines for the Ableton forum. You may have noticed some threads have been deleted. As you’ll see when you read the Community Guidelines, bullying – including personal attacks and “gang-up” threads – are not welcome on this forum. In addition, once a user has been banned, please respect that s/he is gone and don’t mention him/her. It’s unfair to post questions or criticism to someone who cannot answer.

We appreciate your understanding and hope that we can continue to keep it clean in here.

- The Ableton Forum Team
I'm not sure if I had anything to do with any of it. I try to play nice but I'm not always successful.
