Ableton on iOS or Android
Re: Ableton on iOS or Android
Given that you're completely ignoring the person's original post, the case your making has no point in being made. It is obvious that one can run Live on a windows device. No one in this thread is denying that. My intent is to be helpful to the poster in an applicable way.

I mean that Maschine vs. Push and Live vs. Bitwig nonsense is silly, but at least topical.
But seriously, Mac vs. PC? Still?? What has it been now, two decades, three?!
Let's have a Capitalism vs Socialism fight again, that shit doesn't even get old after two centuries!!!
Here people even get still BANNED over it

The funniest thing about this is, on a direct comparison level, microsoft supports ultra mobile devices, and so does apple. Both install Live. Live itself does not have an interface which makes implementation of touch.8ball wrote:Typical response from an Apple fanboy. Mad because Microsoft can do what Apple can't. When you next go to the tablet market, you've got Surface RT vs iOS. Neither can install Live, and the iPad really Does Do what 'no other device can do'.
I prefer a PC over a Mac, but the power of an iPad is unique and not to be understated. Only time will tell if anything will snuff it out. Right now it seems that when it comes to music concepts, nothing runs as smoothly, with as much priority and ingenuity. And also as much flexibility. It is one of the few devices that has an observable impact on the world for education. That probably cannot be measured, but from the inspiring stories I've seen, I couldn't imagine any other device making these impacts as effortlessly.

Okay, as long as you all know that Microsoft is one up, then we are all good here. And no I am not Pencil Rocket. And I never said the iPad is not powerful for music. It just doesn't run Ableton....I sound like a broken record. Anyways, glad you all now recognize.

I don't even know what this 'one up' specifically refers to??

Thanks. Not much effort on my part. It's all Microsoft and their creative team.TomViolenz wrote:Wow8ball wrote:Okay, as long as you all know that Microsoft is one up, then we are all good here.

Re: Ableton on iOS or Android
Well, in that case you are correct, the Surface does have a tablet form factor. I don't know if it necessarily 'acts' like a tablet. Instant on/off, full OS, the other thing is how apple has their Air devices which, technically are Not tablets, but are similarly spec'd.
I am not trying to go in favor of apple, and you are correct about the tablet aspect. I guess to me, the differences are not strong enough to really make any statement with. Even the prices are more towards the laptop side.

11 people, who were born within a radius of about a 1000Km of me (who I never even met, and who most certainly wouldn't talk to me, if I did), played decent football today, against some other 11 people, who were born a little further off and didn't play quite as good, but still a million times better than I ever could, and the first eleven won
For some totally non-obvious reason that brought me some sort of feeling of accomplishment....
We are a weird genus of apes, I tell you....
