Startup Options in Push - source files broken for 9.1.2?

Post by Buleriachk » Wed Apr 09, 2014 9:12 pm

I think Julien Bayle's decompiled consts.py is broken in 9.1.2.

Although it will compile, I now get a message that the script cannot be loaded when I use the old (9.1.1) version.

At least that's what I THINK is wrong. (I had re-ordered and re-named some of the scales in the Push List, and had created a couple of others).

At the very LEAST Ableton should put the scale definitions and their ordering in an options.text file and include a startup scale and key (like ClyphX), so we could set these as we need for our own uses.

At least put the Gypsy Minor scale next to the Phrygian mode so one could switch from relative major to harmonic minor in the same key by just toggling the buttons on the Push instead of having to scroll through...

actually, I didn't decompile 9.1.2 yet so it cannot be broken :D

I can do that if you need it, btw.

Hi, Julien -

Update: I found a decompiler that works really well: EasyPythonDecompiler.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/easypythondecompiler/

So I decompiled the factory Push consts.pyc file, renamed it to consts.py and was able to restore my modifications without a problem.

In fact, it was really easy... :)

Thanks again for showing us how to do it..... :)

I'll post the new 9.1.2 sources on my github as I know it is well referenced.

Have fun.

I just use Notepad++

http://notepad-plus-plus.org/

and add scale definitions and re-order scales in the consts.py(c) file (and then set Clyphx user options to set startup choices).

Check out the links in my signature.
