Ableton 909 Hi hat

Hi all,

I'm trying to create a Techno tune on live 9 and I'm putting in 909 hats on top of my bassline. The problem that I have is that I want the hats to be of different length but when I play back the hats they sound the exact same length, even though one is 1/4 of a bar and the other is 1/2 a bar ?

Even when I reduce the first hat to just showing minimal as possible, it still plays the same length as the other?

Any ideas what this is?

It's a sample and you are just triggering it.
You need to adjust the volume envelopes release settings so that the Midi note length has any influence. (make the realease short, but not zero, otherwise it will sound chopped off)
