Not sure if you saw Satya interview with Mossberg and that lady. He annoyingly says 'Look," to start all his sentences.
If their Skype translation hasn't made big waves in the mainstream yet, I'm sure it will, though.
Note how so many companies adopted Jobs 'Do a few good things very well' approach after he kicked the iBucket.

But what they didn't learn from Jobs starting with the iPod is don't compete with a product dominating the market that most people are happy with when you have no fucking clue how to greatly improve upon it other than throwing "Theirs doesn't do this, so ours will" darts.
Re: iPad
Current iPhone on the left with mockups of the supposed new models coming out.

The middle one looks about right for me.
I read a Business Insider article this past weekend by a recent convert from the iPhone to the Galaxy 5S. Paragraph after paragraph gushing about how much better the Galaxy is and each point came down to the same damn thing, the screen is bigger. Way to bang a single point into the dirt. It was like reading a minimum word count requirement school essay written by somebody who never showed up to class.

Re: iPad
Been getting more into iPad music production lately. I really like DM1 for drums but when I went to create my own kit using samples I have in Dropbox it can’t access the folder structure and you have to have all the samples in a single proprietary DM1 folder in Dropbox. WTF? I have 6Gs of samples on Dropbox in folders by library and sample types. I’m not going to dig through possibly thousands of samples and drag them to a single folder to create a kit.
This is the first time I’ve attempted this. I hope other apps don’t have similar limitations.

I was checking out the Doogee G550 earlier since I need to upgrade my backup aka cell phone...
Actually that Elephone looks pretty cool too, but haven't read anything about it

Love how alternative phones feel the need to advertise their processor and RAM front and center like they are a PC. Meanwhile an iPhone can handle whatever you throw at it without having to advertise tech specs all in your face.
Yes, I know some older model iPhones can’t handle some current apps but that’s no different than competitor phones. The current spec bragging will be just as laggy and obsolete in a couple years.

Re: iPad
Yes I've agreed with that point for awhile now, and I think most of us are aware by now how important the OS is implemented and optimized, but a pro for that phone is how un-laggy it is. I don't care how generic Android looks because I could change it if I cared enough anyway.Love how alternative phones feel the need to advertise their processor and RAM front and center like they are a PC. The whole reason I went looking for cheap hones is because I'm on a family plan and I hardly use my cell phone since I usually use wi-fi + google hangouts on my ipod as my phone. I expect to be using a phone more like a normal person since I'll be stationed in Anaheim, but something like that to tide me over for something nicer seems good enough; bang for your buck; even overkill really, but I like the design and I'm curious as to how robust it is. So it's not like it's going to be my main device (iPad Mini Retina) anyway. Ad the Galaxy designs are backwards fugly. Rounded edges and curves look cheap and 90's.
But also seeing as how it's the company's page for the phone it would be pretty dumb to not advertise it's specs and it makes sense to go into their details, it's not like Apple doesn't do that with their products, just not the specs.
I wouldn't expect closed vs open systems to advertise the same ways anyway.
Off-tangent - people shouldn't think that Apple or any company that's hot for the time always needs to stay at the top and fight to keep it that way. Accept the fluctuations. they couldn't have made the come-back they made without that huge dip and it's time for that again. That's why you save your nuts, let the other guys battle it out for #1, and during that stale time make the best plans and then execute when the time is right.

Apple doesn't need to tell you the specs for all one models at a timebeats me wrote:Love how alternative phones feel the need to advertise their processor and RAM front and center like they are a PC. honestly, jokes aside... i think that Apple doesn't talk too much about their specs because there are plenty of phones out there that have better ones. drawing attention or focusing too much on that would not be in their favor.

Re: iPad
Well it doesn't go with their aesthetic anyway, which is supposed to be 'just working', 'magical', and that its the OS that has the soul, not the components.
I get it, but that's Apple. It's like comparing what a gated community has compared to...China /sigh I'm not going to be able to come up with a good analogy but it's like comparing some premium gourmet yogurt only made in the hills of Bavaria to the rest of all the other yogurts in the supermarket and knocking them for showing all the ingredients and health information.

Re: iPad
Well with tech specs that blow Apple’s idevices out of the water can anybody tell me anything that an Android device can do better that takes advantage of that horsepower? I’m not talking differences in the OS functionality that work regardless of the hardware specs. I'm talking "because of the 2Gs of RAM compared to Apple's 1 you can do this that can't possibly be done with an iPhone".
Otherwise it’s all just a marketing placebo.

Re: iPad
have more apps open concurrently
support HD on a larger screen
support more simultaneous downloads
simultaneously upload your location to more apps and their servers to keep track of your life in real time to be used against you in a court of law at later date yet to be determined
open bigger pornographic images
do you need more or do you want to just use your imagination and compare it to a memory usage situation with your iPhone vs. your iPad because you already know the answers you're just being stubborn?
