Trying to determine if Push would be right for me

I’m trying to determine if Push would be a good solution for me. I’m a guitarist who plays mostly acid jazz and funk. Stuff like Meters, Scofield, Lotus, MMW, Soulive, Lettuce.

I’m looking for a good way to create and generate ideas for songs. I have Logic X, and while I like it, I seem to have a hard time fleshing out ideas on it. I can never seem to get the drums to sound the way I hear in my head, or get the midi tracks to groove, etc. I realize it's probably my lack of skill. I just feel like it gets so complicated that I lose my initial inspiration.

I’m a music school graduate so I have a good handle on theory and harmony. Unfortunately I can’t play keys to save my life.

I’m hoping that Push might be a more user friendly and intuitive way to quickly put down a beat, add some harmonies and melodies, and then export the whole thing into Logic so I can record my guitar parts on it and fine tune it. Right now I have no plans for using Push in a live situation, just for home use.

yes it can be usefull for you, but first try it in a store if you can, you may like or not the workflow that it offers.

yes, because of the "inKey" matrix formats. But see my links regarding accidentals..
