Greetings, would appreciate anyone's help as I'm new to DAW's and with Live 9. After reading about a preferred protocol for plug-ins I went into preferences and found that I did not have a "Custom Folder" and had to choose one. I ended up choosing a folder that had two VST plug-ins in it. After choosing I had the Files/Folders scan to pick up any new programs. But they did not show up in my Browser/Plug-In's location. So it seems that before I try and bring Kontakt 5 with Studio drummer I should try and find out why Live is not seen the folder and two plug in's in the file I choose. I should explain, that the file that had two other plug in's was used with Studio One, that I originally tried before buying Live. I'm running Win 7/64.
Thanks again, Jim

Create a shortcut(s) to the other vst folders and copy to your main default vst Folder

Thanks for responding to my Q, but I don't understand what you are saying, could you explain it, I'm sort of slow anyhow besides being old and not growing up in the computer age.
Thanks, Jim

A "Shortcut" is a way to access some folder or program.
Try searching Help in Windows for "shortcut".
Go to the folder where your VSTs are located.
Right click and select Create shortcut.
Now go to the Folder that you chose in Live Preferences as your Custom VST folder.
Paste the shortcut into that folder.
Close Restart Live if you have not done so already.
Your VSTs ought to be showing now.
If not then maybe Rescan - hold the Alt key and click on Rescan inside Live Preferences. This will do a complete rescan.
