with usb :

using a two pins power wire for the computer : disconnecting/connecting the power supply makes a high pitch and computer hiccup (capable of making the computer crash!).
using a three pins power wire (grounded?) : no probs when plugging/unplugging the power connector.

With TB i could not reproduce the same behavior, though. But it could that, right ? an isolation/electric problem ?

Sounds like it could be a ground problem.

Yeah well, yeah.
All in all i might just have discovered another problem. Back to TB with the grounded power cable, and glitches are still here and there.

From Motu support :

"The latest firmware update addresses an issue with midi output. It shouldn't be relevant to your current situation."

To end up with this topic :

glitches happen with TB and USB, not just in Live 9.
This apparently an issue that motu is aware of with mavericks, they're working on it.

Until they fix it, i'll put the 828 in the closet.

Been away, thanks for the info. I have not contacted MOTU yet as I have been too busy with other things. Sounds like MOTU has acknowledged the problem then? I will contact them as well this weekend. My specs in my sig.

Doing some shopping six months ago for a technical school I work for, I had noticed than all the major brands still seemed to have problems making sound cards work normally with Mavericks. And we had just bought four new macs running it, and no possibility to downgrade, so I feel your pain... It's really weird that those are not solved.

I had a similar issue with my Presonus Audiobox.

On Window 7 it worked pretty well and when I converted to mac it had pops and clicks in the recording.

The problem was actually the mixing software. I had to redefine this as a generic Core Audio device, which meant I couldn't use the mixing software or effects but that got rid of the pops and clicks.

The frustrating thing is that after research I found out that that problem was old. Presonus was having the issue on Mac computers for about 6-8 months without a good fix. I still don't know if they even fixed it (by now they should have) because I sold the Audiobox.
