It's more like, they don't have to use it ;-)

Anyways, what kind of crackle are we talking about? A loud sustained one like when the CPU craps out, or just a very short, much quiter crackle, like from an old vinyl record?

Does it also happen sometimes when you enter notes with the Step Sequencer or change the clip loop brace in quick succession?!

Because the latter I experience too (and I also already turned monitor at reduced latency off). I always blamed it on me using my internal sound card (also MBP i7). Are you using something more beefy as a sound card?!

Looks like 80C is ok for a Macbook Pro Intel Core i7
It's "acceptable" in that it can handle it but certainly not normal or desired to be running that hot.

Yeah, exactly like a vinylcrackle:) I use a RME Fireface UCX.

That's a pretty decent interface right?! So it seems I shouldn't expect it to get better by plunging for a pricy interface, hm. :|
Btw., did you try to do the same things that produce the crackles without using Push for them?!
I think I may have always had these problems, but before Push I never did them in a live context, so I didn't realize or payed much attention.
But now, after I tried it, I do get crackles even if I move the loop bracelet of a busy playing clip with the mouse or mute/un-mute notes in it in rapid succession with just selecting the notes and hitting 0 on my computer keyboard.
(This is in a busy drum clip that has notes for 16 different drum pads).
HELP, I want to do this live, and this turns into being a real road block :(

Try minimising Live using cmd+H and then doing whatever it is on the push that causes it. Does it still produce the crackle?

Cmc+H didn´t make any difference.
Regarding sound card, just had to switch to a UC from the UCX. And suddenly it´s smoother, the UC isn´t as powerful as the UCX but that does´t seem to matter. Running at 256 samples produces an absolutely crackle free experience. One could think that it should work ok on lower sampling rates but for now it´s ok...
