Hi there, just a quick question. Is there a way to connect my Focusrite Saphire Pro 24 sound card to my macbook without using firewire? The mac doesn't have this port...
If not, then i will have to sell and buy a similar one, so i have another question... Which one would you recommend thats similar to what I have now?
(massive bonus would be a sound card that doesn't require me to completely restart my macbook + Ableton for it to be detected again)
Any help is much appreciated.

Your computer should have a Thunderbolt port, with a little lightning bolt pic, and you can get a Firewire to Thunderbolt adapter.

I use an M-Audio Project Mix I/O (which is firewire), and run it into my Asus G750 using the same above adapter. Not a single problem so far!

I use the Thunderbolt adapter mentioned above with my iMac and a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40, works like a charm.
