My band had a gig a couple of weeks ago. We didn't have enough time to practice, so I rendered the songs into WAVs, leaving out a few melodies which I decided to play live during the gig. I then installed both 4.1.4 and 5.0.1 into my laptop and dropped the WAVs into both.
5.0.1 has very handy markers which I used to mark the places where I needed to play melodies during the performance. 4.1.4 doesn't have such markers (as far as I know), so I recorded a few empty MIDI clips and placed those on a MIDI track, beneath the audio track to mark the places. I'm 100% certain the clips were in the correct places when I saved the Live set for the last time, shut the laptop down and left for the gig.
During the soundcheck, I first tried 5.0.1 but it produced some odd crackles and snaps, so I switched to 4.1.4. And what did I see, when I opened the 4.1.4 Live set? The empty MIDI clips had moved. They were off by several bars, in fact. How could something like this happen?
4.1.4 - empty MIDI clips moving on their own
