Playing Live9 instrument from keyboard

My friend is playing a piano in Live when in note mode. As soon as I switch to session it stops working. Is there a way to "lock" his keyboard to the instrument and allow me to move between modes?

In the "MIDI from" drop-down menu in the piano track, choose his keyboard. You must also either arm the track, or select "In" under "Monitor".

You can now do whatever you want on Push and he can keep playing at the same time.
