Remix Competition, test yourself get paid and a credit.

Post by Danny H » Tue Aug 09, 2005 11:59 pm

Hi, I have remixed for over 17 years myself ( Nin, coil, depeche, adamski) and I would like to see what somebody can do with one of my tunes .
The tune is in 13/8 and might well present you with a challange.
In common with remixes I have done I'm saying do what you want with the tune, no rules.
If it's interesting that is all that counts.
It could well get you started on the ladder or just give you a bit of fun.
the winner will get some cash and will receive a credit on the cd etc.
see webpage below:
http://www.auralrage.com/competition.htm

The files are 24bit 44.1 and stored within ableton live 4 sequence, so if you have Live 4 or above you are ready to roll

Very cool.

How's sleazy?

BTW, you're responsible for most of L.S.D. Right? One of my favorite records ever.

My biggest issue with remix competitions is that I rarely get to hear the work done by other artists in the competition. I care less about winning than I do about hearing what other artists can think up with the same set of files. And then I care about winning :)

neb, Know what you are saying, but the top 3 will be downloadable, and who knows, if there are more great entries, maybe I'll set up some more downloads from my site as well as divine freq hosting the top 3.

Leisuremuffin, Sleazy is cool in Bangkok as far as I'm aware.
And yes did the linn/akai programming, engineering and the mixing on Lsd as well as co-prod.
Glad you like it, it was a crazy experience making that one.
Best

I could probably ask you 10,000 questions about that record, but i'll spare you! (and spare myself the fanboy embarassment  )

anyways, when do you think the FTP download will be up?

You couldn't have made it easy by picking 13/6 or something I'm more familiar with.

The file downlinks should be at the bottom of the page.

IT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION THAT IF YOU OPEN THE ALS FILE IN LIVE 5 YOU GET AN ERROR MESSAGE.

I have tried this with the original files and confirm that it happens , but that everything plays o.k, so if you intend staying in Live 5 save under a new name then you won't see that anymore

There is no error message if opening under Live 4

wow, there has been a great response.
In order to give every entry a reasonable listen the entry numbers will have to close soon, so if any body wants to join up there are a few places left.

thanks for all that brain power
