I've been looking but, I can not find a way to use the slice to new midi track option and then replace the original loop sample, across ALL drum rack pads, while retaining each pads start and end markers. I essentially just want to save the slice pattern and then apply it to different samples.
Any ideas?

I don't have a solution for you as I'm not an expert on this subject, but I also don't fully understand your question. Is what you want to keep the MIDI data from one sliced loop A and then use that to play another sliced loop B? So in effect using the timing of loop A on the sounds per slice of loop B?rehills wrote:I've been looking but, I can not find a way to use the slice to new midi track option and then replace the original loop sample, across ALL drum rack pads, while retaining each pads start and end markers. Do you also in addition want each slice of this new loop B to inherit the start and end points from each slice in Loop A so in effect the length of every slice of Loop B will have the same length as each corresponding slice in loop A?
If the latter, does this mean that you also want for the sound in each slice to stretch or shrink in order to fit with these inherited lengths?
Is this in Impulse, Simpler or Sampler?
Make some music!

Re: Slice to MIDI / Then Replace Original Sample
Instead of replacing each pad, replace the entire drum rack. Copy the midi pattern and place it in a new drum rack. I find it's easier to consolidate similar sounds in the the original pattern first so it's easier to match up in the new drum rack. However, due to the fact that a new kit has different tonal differences and different transient shapes, I've never had effective results from imprinting a pattern from an audio file to another drum rack. But it might be a great starting point.
