Cept the $499 model is 1.4 GHz, 4GB RAM, and 500GB drive. The next stock model up is 2.6 GHz, 8GB RAM, 1TB drive (bare minimum requirements in my book) and $200 more at $699. I see what they did there and I don’t like it.

I. Was wondering about that. Pardon my laziness, but what's the size difference between a 5.5" phablet and iPad Mini?

And of course they leave out what processor that new mini os rinning which must mean they left the old one, probably because the rest of it's components aren't as up to speed either?

And I assume they're killin off the iPod altogether because of redundancy but it's too bad because I wouldn't mind an iPod Touch with iPhone 6 specs.

But hey that 160$ chinese octo-core phablet has been running like a champ so I don't feel like I'm really missing out anyway /smugface

With no user experience of Android, iOS is all about the app ecosystem and deep integration with all things Apple. If you’re saying your phone makes calls, texts, gets email, and browses the web like a champ, well, every fucking phone should at this point and that isn’t exactly a bragging point.

No, I mean as in running like a fast netbook that can play hi-def games and media, not lag or twitch or glitch and also run for 8 hours.
Also the only crashing I can remember that has a hgappened a couple times is with Chrome on a couple websites that may not have a mobile version, while apps in ios can be a crap shoot.

I think an indicator, or at least a test, will be if they make a 6 Plus sized iPod Touch. Analyst predicting the end of the Mini are forgetting that the 6 Plus is a phone with all the price and contract shit involved that makes it substantially more expensive than an iPad. A contract-free 128GB iPhone 6 Plus is $949.
