I mean, is the fact that I've shared my experiences with cops of ANY interest considering the OP?

Seems to me that almost every thread is an all blacks are picked on/all whites are bad. Well, I might be bad but if cops are so racist, why are they singling me out?

Yes cops can be racist and prejudiced as well.
A racist cop can and often will target blacks, all other non white races, poor white trash, people who they identify as bikers, hippies, metalheads, punks, gang affiliated etc. In fact that's how it works, if you don't look middle class, and 'normal' cops are more likely to target you, period.

I don't know why they target you? maybe it's because you don't like them and act accordingly? Mybe you look like a meth head I can't tell you. The point remains though, as most cops are middle or upper lower class white people, they target, without even overt racist meaning behind it, blacks and other minority groups. It's a statistical fact, not based on your anecdotal evidence.

The point is in the way the media portrays it, the cops reacted aggressively in both cases.

First, I take GREAT offense at your attitude that I'm "dense" because I don't fall inline with the extra-liberal conspiracy theorist POV that is almost exclusive to these music forums. You seem to think you have all of lifes experiences and nobody else does. Is that your intention?

I do not care whether you take offense, your ad hominem or your hyperbole. All I care about is whether you have anything to add to the discussion. So far you have stated extreme opinions and refused to back them up. That doesn't add to the discussion, it clouds it with a whinging voice.

Hey beats, did you watch the John Africa doc yet?

Yes, this past weekend.

It was slanted, but not completely slanted like I thought it would be. It still showed elements that MOVE wasn’t quite right in the head and even black people wanted them out of the neighborhood. I mean attaching a bull horn to the outside of the house so they can randomly call everybody a motherfucker while kids were playing in the street, WTF? I was impressed by the women of MOVE being questioned by the investigation committee, and I don’t mean impressed as in liked. I mean how their answers were very lawyer-esque…or even like mob bosses. Deflecting the question with things like “Depends on what you mean by…” and getting on a soap box.

On a side note to where this thread headed, when I first heard about the situation on the podcast I didn’t know these people were black. It wasn’t mentioned and I didn’t connect the dots with everybody picking the last name Africa, almost seemed like a hippy thing even white people would do. For that reason I think I got a better understanding that these people were just plain crazy. I didn’t have race clouding my judgment. And really Waco pretty much ended the same way and that was mostly, if not all, white people.
