Free autotune plugins for Ableton Mac? Garageband has it?!!!
Hi,
Any suggestions for FREE auto-tune plugins for Mac?
Everywhere I search, it says Melodyne and Antares are the only options for Mac. Yet PCs seem to have several free options.
Seems odd to me. Why does Garageband, which seems pretty "basic" or "standard" have a built-in autotune, but 1. Ableton doesn't provide one, and 2. no one else does either? Sounds like a conspiracy to me!
Any suggestions?
I think this would be at the top of things to add to the next release of Ableton.
Thanks,
A

What would you use auto-tune for? I change the pitch for individual sample sections on occasion, but I seem to not miss an auto-tune plug-in at all. I love vocoders though.andrew.scandal wrote:Hi,

Why is this important to have as a basic part of Live?

It would seem the truly free part is in the MFREEEFFECTSBUNDLE.

I think there are many obvious uses for it. Subtle correction of pitch would probably be my main use. Or the fact that it's standard in Garageband, just seems to me to be rather embarrassing that Ableton wouldn't offer the same.
I like to mix a clean vocal and an auto-tuned one together, but obviously there are many more creative uses for it.

Garageband ? Live. Comparing to it is invalid. It's typically not the same people using Garageband as are using Live. There's nothing embarrassing to it at all. If you mentioned Logic's supplied auto-tune plug-in that everyone is raving about you would have a case. Maybe.andrew.scandal wrote:Thanks for the suggestions.Stromkraft wrote:What would you use auto-tune for? How many Live users think they need this plug-in before all other issues they want resolved? Very few is likely to to be the case. Suggest this to Ableton if you want, but I think you'll find few others will feel they must have it supplied with Live. After all, Auto-tune plugins are widely available and free ones too as you've seen now.

Well, I have Suite so that comes with all kinds of effects/plug ins. It just seems to me odd that they don't include one of the most famous effects in the world. There are certainly people asking for it.
I do think it's embarrassing to the program, that 12 year old kids can screw around with auto-tune on Garageband but I have to post in a forum to find something, and I have the Suite?
Everyone knows auto-tune, but resonators come included with the suite but not some version of auto-tune?
Just seems odd.
