Free autotune plugins for Ableton Mac? Garageband has it?!!!

But no, in seriousness.
The argument of comparing Live to GarageBand and then to Logic is just silly. Logic and GarageBand are similar in that they are both linear music production softwares with instrument and fx options.
Live is similar to those yet offers the non-linear approach. Either way, they are all similar, or, Live is different from those two.
Second, who is entitled to say what the importance or usefulness of a musical effect is? That is just snobbery? If a guy likes moderate to excessive use of autotune for his productions, don't ride his ass about it. Try to be helpful. I'm sure half of you have used a glitching or beat repeating device before. How is the automatic result of that as opposed to cutting samples to tiny bits any different than a tonal pitch augmenting device compared to 'learning to sing' etc ? And still, learning to sing only covered a minuscule amount of what the potential of a tuning vst is capable of.
I believe that any tool in an arsenal that can be used to fuck shit up in a Unique way (which, in this case it certainly would be a unique device in contrast to the other fx plugs Live has), is a welcome addition.
So yeah. It sucks that you're frustrated that you can't find any useful free options on Mac.
And I'm sorry that these guys are unhelpful.

Thanks yur2die4. Yes of course it's absurd to be questioning the usefulness or intent of an effect. Bored people... The irony of course, is that I studied singing in University. But anyway...yur2die4 wrote:http://youtu.be/KOTZk0fD6Qs

The one link someone posted as an option for a free auto-tune plugin, did not open for me. So the search continues...
I still think it's odd that there are multiple PC options but none for Ableton!
Re: Free autotune plugins for Ableton Mac? Garageband has it?!!!
You can always export your audio into Garageband, correct it there and export it back to Live.
If you compare Melodyne against the free autotune options, you will know why the others are free
Melodyne is still the only game in town for polyphonic pitch correction and sounds so much better than any of the competition (less artifacts) for monophonic sources as well. Of course for your T-Pain tribute, the artifacts are what you are after...Melodyne can do that, too.
Melodyne Essential (monophonic) is only $69...cheaper than Autotune. Cough up the $69, you will not regret it.
Good luck.

Did not open? So you just give up? What's that? If you can't operate a browser, then explain your issues and ask for help.andrew.scandal wrote:

People have tried to help you find an existing alternative as there isn't one supplied with Live and you just piss on them. What's that?

MAutoPitch is in that bundle...Stromkraft wrote:[It would seem the truly free part is in the MFREEEFFECTSBUNDLE.
A lot of the other effects are worth having anyway.

Yeah that's what I do now, export to Garageband and then drop it back in. I don't really use Auto-tune too much, so that's why I wanted to see what free options were available.doghouse wrote:You can always export your audio into Garageband, correct it there and export it back to Live.

But maybe I'll get Melodyne sometime...
