... is this a music software forum or a politics board? FFS!

Post by DirtRider » Mon Aug 22, 2005 9:10 pm

... ok...

I have to say one thing.
I know I haven't been long on this board...
And I subscribed because I want to know more about Live 5...

But why the HELL is it necessary to bring up politics, police vids about how they f*ck it up once again and other terrorist whatever act things?

If I want to read, discuss and talk about that I'll watch the bloody telly or read the newspaper...

Ableton is the LAST PLACE I want to read this shit and I am here for my FUN, the HOBBY and ENJOYING SPARE TIME, not reading bollox about whatever crap cop who did something stupid again...

I'm sorry, it's no what I dont care, I do, but can someone please make an off topic board and whack all that stuff in there instead of making one 'general' board filled with stuff from M-Audio Firewires and Terrorist Firebombs? PLEASE?????

Thanks...

I love you all :D

PS: I'm not talking about the UTAH thing here, but about the brazil london thing... anyway the utah thing is plain sick... fuck the cops!

damn good point, dirtrider.
but it is an open forum, and these are some of the abe users.
computo, we're all aware...i been seeing this kind of shit go down at parties since the '80's....calm down a little, kid.... you'll handle it with better results if you don't jump around making enemies and yelling at people.

At the same time.... if there is a post you don't care to read.... then don't read it.

De-Lurking. . .

It's pretty simple Dirtrider. If the subject matter does not directly relate to what you are looking for. Look at a diffrent thread. Some people here are disgusted by the actions taken by local law enforcement, especially as it related to an activity near and dear to the hearts and pocketbooks of the same people.

What we could do just for “FUN” is go to a politics board and post some subjects like:

“How do I re-wire Live in a Police State?”
“Faderfox Conspiracy… read this now”
“Mac verses Political Correctness”

and just put a link to each of the political threads.

O.K. I realize this is a really stupid idea, it just happens that I’m bit bored and the idea has amused me for a few moments.

Dirt Rider, it's not like you're being tricked into reading.
the titles are quite clear. If you can't tell which thread won't be about live, this forum is clearly not for you

I do wish the Abes would post an Off Topic forum.

We wouldn't have to filter through the political/social/miscellanous stuff to find something about Live if we didn't want to.

I, too, come here for knowledge and fun, not to be reminded of the world's issues. Music is my escape from that, and I wish I didn't have to see it here.

I get enough of that on the news, in newspapers and magazines, and from friends and acquaintances.

I'm a Live 3 user and I HATE having to trawl through all these posts about later versions.

Also, could you please stop discussing DJs and electronic music? I only use it to record guitars and vocals. All these other threads aren't relevant to me.

I will once again state that this board needs some fucking organization in the form of more sections. It is rediculous to search through all these fucking topics everyday, when you only really care about reading one or two.

Now that 5 is released, I wouldnt mind the ableton guys setting up more sections of the forum. For god sakes make an off topic area where people like computo can post all the shit he wants and feel good about it.

I DONT COME HERE TO READ THIS KIND OF SHIT. THERE ARE MILLIONS OF FORUMS ON THE NET FOR IT. I COME HERE TO DISCUSS THINGS THAT RELATE TO THIS FUCKING SOFTWARE.

Its not music or our culture thats being attacked. Its the scumbag promoters who dont spend a few bucks to ensure the safety of thier patrons. They couldnt give a fuck as long as they get the money. There was a young guy in glasgow who lost an eye at a rave a few years back, no insurance was taken out by the promoter so he got no compessation etc etc...Thats whats under attack.
