Saving Samples

Hi all,

Quick question. So I'm using a vocoder plug in on an audio channel with an audio speech clip. Then I have a midi clip set up with a note which then routes to the vocoder in the audio channel. Then when launched together the audio clip plays out with the vocoder effect.

This is all in session view

Question is can I save the effected clip / sample so that I can use it in another project (in Arrangement view) and it still sound like the voice through the vocoder?

Do I need to record it into arrangement view then highlight it and export the recorded audio? Then Save it somewhere where I can grab it as an audio sample in another project?

Or is there a better way I'm not thinking of?

Create a new Audio track in Session view and route the effected track's output to the new Audio track. Arm the Audio track and record the effected track playing back. Now in the Audio track you created, click on your new clip and save the clip. It can be found in the browser under Samples. Or you could instead set the new Audio track's input to Resample then solo the effected track and record a new clip into your new Audio track. Hope this helps.

Alternative would be committing to arrangement and then rendering, and WHO WANTS TO DO THAT?

Cheers for the replies! I did think that exporting the whole project wasn't a very clever way of making samples!

Little bit confused about the alternative but that's cos I'm not on Ableton at the minute. I'll suss it out tonight!
