Program changes

Post by Mantrix » Mon Aug 22, 2005 7:57 pm

I'm wondering if its possible to send a program change to a VST plugin such as the Vanguard or a preset on the Impulse, either from a midi clip or from a midi controller?

If so, I'm really having trouble working out how, and would really appreciate any help...

Thanks in advance

Rich

i can't talk about those plugins as i don't have them, but it seems it's down to the actual software developer. i know reaktor can use the program changes, but i don't off hand know of any other software that does there has been discussion of this before and a few other programs do respond as well.
it essentially seems you have to try it out, and if it works, it works...

the problem (i guess) is that there isn't a provision for this is the vst standard.
Hp Elitebook 2.8Ghz. Live 7.0.14 & Live 8.1.5, XP Pro. and stuff...

Each Midi clip can have it's own program (and even bank) change.

Go to the NOTES box and you can set Bank, Sub-Bank and Program for every Midi clip.

Most controllers should be able to send program changes for live playing also
