Recording the sequence of MIDI clips in Session View

Post by jmeager » Thu Nov 20, 2014 9:18 am

Hi,

I have some chords I played in to Ableton using Push, recording them as MIDI.

I then split the chords each to their own Clip in a single track - the track is playing a Simpler instrument I created.

This method works for me as I can then use Push to trigger the chords in different patterns and for different lengths and create new melodies.

Is there a way I can record this sequence to a Clip in Session View as MIDI? Or would it need to be done in Arrangement View?
Would Resampling and recording as audio, be the easiest way to do it in session view?

Thanks,
J

You could route all the Midi from the Push track to another Midi track and record it there.
