Even Roland are telling me to ditch Ableton and go for a different DAW, see this email from Roland UK when I questioned them, time for Ableton to really give us VST3 support now...
Hi Mark,
Thank you for your email.
Now that VST2 is now quite an ancient format (being a product of the 1990’s), Roland looked at making the Plug-Out a VST3 rather than a VST2. VST3 has already been with us for quite some time now and DAW manufactures are the ones needing to catch up with this day and age by making their DAW’s compatible with VST3.
Hopefully DAW manufacturers who are still using this now ancient format will soon make a step into 2014 and will allow VST3 compatibility available for their users.
Please find below a list of compatible VST3 DAW’s which I hope of some help to you:
Cakewalk SONAR X3 (Win VST3 64bit)
Cakewalk SONAR X3 (Win VST3 32bit)
Presonus StudioOne 2 (Win VST3 64bit)
Presonus StudioOne 2 (Win VST3 32bit)
Image-Line FL Studio 11 (Win VST3 64bit) Image-Line FL Studio 11 (Win VST3 32bit)
Until this happens, I’m afraid the plug-out will only be available to VST3 and AU users only.
Kind regards,
Dan
