Coldmachine said it...
Its nothing new...Illegal raves always run a risk of getting busted
OK so the american thing with the super rave soldiers is way over the top but who cares I dont live there. Most people wanna use the forum for relevent discussion etc
Ban the bullshit on a music software board leave the politics 2 the politicians
Or go on one of those protest walks or something

Well I think the reason people write about these O/T things is because it inspires them creativly. And they care enough about them to hope other abletones would be moved by them aswell. I always find this board highly intersting and it often gives me information I wouldnt have thought about otherwise. Granted if it was posted in the bugs forum then that would be a bit stupid but its not. I wouldnt come to this board if it was just about crap like "ooohh how good is this soundcard, its better than all yours" or "my pc is better than all your macs because it has a red case and 12 processors" or "does scimplesynth have better anti deflamitory buttock reducing oscillators than anusbass.......if it does then its better than all of yours"

All very nice...

but can some Ableton dude PLEASE make an off topic forum.
Don't get me wrong peepz, it's not that I don't want peolpe to post this stuff, because yes it is important that we read about it, I agree... but just not in the general thing... it IS off topic, not?

The solution for all this crap is quite simple: re-organize the board. Adding a new subforum is like, what... 5 minuts of work? WOW!

As said earlier: an off topic board would sure allow us to filter better.

I'm not asking you to shut up, I'm asking yuo to ask Ableton for an offtopic board :D

I second that motion.

Simple solution, Abes. Off-topic forum. Those who want to read it for interest, inspiration, computer speed wankings, whatever, can do it. Those of us who want to learn more about the software and not the new world order won't have to trawl through it.

Why not create a "technical questions" forum

or go to the theycontrol.us forums which is open to politics and music and they are both separate in different forums!

http://www.theycontrol.us/forum/phpBB2/

come here for ableton, live and all other things of course (as we all still do)!

they could make an off topic forum, it might be good. They could rename general as 'general live questions' too.

BUT

take a look in 'Tips and Tricks'

how many tips or tricks do you see in there?

Just naming something doesn't make the world conform to the way you want it to be. Sadly.

I don't mind reading some politics in between, allthough I am not opening such threads.

I mean, this porn add posted here is maybe getting a bit too far
, but whatever...I like woman :-)...

So, simply just skip to the next thread or start an ableton forum for purists and hire a person who cleans up all unwanted posts...

Yeah, this why I like music forums with their off topic threads...you can read into the minds of people who already lost it :-)....
