More than 2-channel output in plugout

Post by Shalom_Ashanti » Thu Dec 04, 2014 12:41 am

Hello everyone,

This is a simple question, with apparently not a simple answer: I've spent a great deal of time making an M4L object and would like to use it in a 4-channel setup. Is there a workaround so I can output audio to 4 different tracks from one single M4L object instance?

Thanks!

Two channels only I'm afraid. It's a limitation of the way audio tracks work in Live rather than a limitation of M4L itself. Hopefully a future version of Live will introduce multi-channel configurations in Live (both audio and MIDI).

Thanks stringtapper. Now I will investigate what's the best way to send automation data back to Max. Do you reckon that if I have too many parameters perhaps I should try to implement OSC or UDP instead of MIDI for such task?

Thanks again!
