Knowing of the possibilitys of sound manipulation, I often stumble about bad quality audio files containing problems, that could easyly be fixed with a little vst magic. I tried several solutions like a winamp vst wrapper among others. Nothing was very satisfing. In the end, as long as I still cared, I ended up loading the file into ableton and use that as my audioplayer.
This works, but live is not very handy as a simple audio player. But I thougth perhaps it could be...
What Im thinking about is a very slim (free?) version of live, featuring a simple stereo-output, a nice playlist and a single vst and live-effect rack. It would be nice to save effects for audiofiles and playlists.
The audio-player marked seems to grow more and more to an end-consumer marked, were people simply are not expected to have that many different audiofiles on their harddisks anymore. People who are into audio-editing on the other hand tend to have plenty of audio-files of diverse kinds. I believe that among those people there is a demand for a good audio (and video?) player, with vst-support and probably some other slim features pointing towards live.
It's just a suggestion but I would really love to see something like this happen.
