You obviously didnt read my post, but, anonymouse, Im sure the UK's 3000 troops really "helped."

Anyways, how stupid of a reply could you write?

truly, I and most others would be laughed out of Britain or elsewhere, if I got "upset" about the laws there.

Thats not my business. So I can understand, others, outsiders, flaking the US rave community off. But Like I said, I dont feel the need to instigate a fight, by negating the impact of police actions on raves elsewhere. I am fully aware of the Czech-tek rave bust, as well as many others, but you dont see me, galavanting around the net, spouting about how Stupid the idea of getting upset about a rave getting busted is.

But please, enlighten me about the Oh so noble british complicity in Iraq. Thats completely on topic.

And man does it suck living in America, where they only show Bill O'reilly and Pat robertson on TV.

Now whos making assumptions, mouse?

Iraq should have been bombed into the stone age instead of wasting our guys getting shot at by hitlers in headscarves. This thread is getting good now! ;)

This is how demented liberalism has seeped into every facet of the US- my friend was telling me she had a class in college recently where the teacher was lamenting about "poor poor" Saddam, how he had such a terrible childhood etc etc blah blah blah. The sick part was that there were soldiers in the class finishing up their degree's after just getting back from Iraq. I don't how they could sit there and listen to that drivel.

Ever the victim never the victor is the liberal. I am so sick of hearing "illegal war" and all this other crap.

Do you think there would be too many house clubs if the islamofascists were running things?

Anyway...I digress....is there still a rave culture left in the US? Seems like it has evaporated into something else..or perhaps morhped into a differant scene. The only really "rave" types I see anymore are the DnB kidz crowd. I do miss those pigtailed raver girls! :P ha.

i've danced in a field and been hassled by the man for doing it

it's an occupational hazard unlike you lot we expected it and didn't get bent out of shape because the cops turned up

i dont expect you to do anything but entertain me computo, you certainly didn't come over and put our diaper (nappy) on, we sorted out that shit ourselves and went even further underground

so one toy town 'rave' got busted in the US - so what? where are the reports of other 'raves' being shut down? is it happening all across amerikkka as we speak or was this one isolated incident thats getting blown up out of proportion? if it's happening weekly then shit - let's get organised people, a rally or million day-glo raver march on DC

quite frankly a bunch of amerikkkan teens dancing and taking drugs to pedestrian/generic drum & bass in a field should be shut down

i fully expect a conceited reply about how 'i dont get it' or how in some way you are 'better than me' but guess what - i dont give a fuck and when i'm sitting in my cell with no human rights i still wont give a fuck about your opinions

As a side note, Evol Intent isn't "generic" DnB by any means. The RAVE act is stupid but there arent raves getting busted all over...mainly because the RAVE act shut them all down already! Its better to party at clubs or just have a house party in my opinion. No SWAT team at my house and I probably have as many guns as they do anyway...ha. ;)

well said mosca, I must say.

And yes, it does happen quite often. Just not quite with the audacity that this raid was conducted.

I suggest checking out the DJ's and promoters websites and blogs, because they really have interesting stories to tell, that exceed the norm as far as rave busts go. Just the fact that it got any coverage is shocking. I mean, all of the local tv stations covered it, and the video is everywhere.

But that being said, the Rave act is stalinist, facist literature, much like most of the drivvle that passes through the halls of congress these days. and it has nothing to do with "liberalism."

Show me how conservatives are doing anything to counter the excess of war or bad porkbarrel government in the US? Its funny that liberalism is blamed because that would mean the conservatives are getting trampled. the "liberals" dont have sway AT ALL, remember?

Its Neo-Conservatives who have merely exported all of the financing that once was directed within. Oh, and multiplied it.

I think that Fred Wreck put it best this afternoon when he was interviewed on Fox News... People in the states have been complaining for years about how they need money for schools and police, and told that there was no money to go around. Now they go to war, and suddenly theres hundreds of billions of dollars to spend on bombs and tanks.

I think the mere concepts of liberal and conservative are far to vague and two-sided to be given any credit though. I find the definitions to be so bastardized, that its simply a fake fight. One that shouldnt even be. blame people, not these silly apperitions called liberal and conservative.

You are right to a point, the terms liberal and conservative have both been co-opted.

I think the Utah story is over with. No permits, no rave, end of story.

I agree. They should've had the proper papers .. they didn't. Period. Better luck next time. Lucky those promoters didn't get slapped with the crackhouse fines or jail time.

Better off? Maybe.

Shave their beards? They could always do that. Don't forget that Iraq was a socialist dictatorship (like, say Romania) not a theocracy (like Iran or Iraq).

Women can walk free and stand tall? Actually, no.

In order to get the backing of the religious groups that now control Iraq, women's rights will take a big step backward.

There is no-one shaping policy in the White House now who is passionate about women's rights, or human rights for that matter.

Because it is wrong?

Would you really want to be a citizen of a country that killed thousands of innocents just to take their stuff?

take their stuff? What "stuff" have we taken? If your of the "no blood for oil" crowd do me a favor and save it for the protests.

I would like to be a citizen of the country that used to know how to win a war effectively and not fiddle faddle around playing hide and seek with islamofascists in dirty nightshirts.

by the way, what did you mean by this:
"Don't forget that Iraq was a socialist dictatorship (like, say Romania) not a theocracy (like Iran or Iraq).
"

Comparing Romania and Iraq? That's a stretch.

Saddam never mentioned God till the 90's, I don't think, and it was never a big part of his propaganda. He was certainly in no way shape or form related to fundamentalist terrorist groups. Anyone with half a brain who can tell the difference between 'an Arab' and 'a fundamentalist Muslim' knows that. Saddam had Christians in his cabinet, for fuck's sake. Get your facts straight. I don't know what "Islamofascists" mean (is it maybe a surreptitious way of saying "I'm an islamophobe"?), but it reminds me of this little gem, courtesy of Pat Robertson:
To see Americans become followers of Islam is nothing short of insanity.... The Islamic people, the Arabs, were the ones who captured Africans, put them in slavery, and sent them to America as slaves. Why would the people in America want to embrace the religion of slavers.

Funny you should find that quote, he couldn't be more right. Do you know your history sir? If you do you know that arabs enslaved Africans and sold them to the west first.

Also, if you STILL think Saddam had no connections to terrorists then there is no point discussing this furthur with you. Have you read any of the HORDES of documents pertaining to this very issue? That is like saying the mob has no connection to drugs.

Yes, yes, all well and good, but how does this relate to Islam in the present? And how does it relate to the fact that the Qur'an and the Sunna of the Prophet (saws) speak against slavery? And how does it add up with the fact that the people who bought and (ab)used the slaves were White Anglo-Saxon Protestants? It's Orientalism, pure and simple. You need to substitute your Bernhard Lewis for Edward Said, my friend.

And yes, I still believe that Saddam's involvement with radical islamic terrorism and the September 11 2001 attacks on America is non-existant.

gee it's getting bad......

10 years ago no one cared..... Those that read and check facts knew what
was happening in say Afghanistan.... but Joe public didn't care..... Now it
seems every American and his dog is an expert in world politics and is able
to quote any number of CNN/Fox/ABC/DoD sources for their information.

This is really quite interesting to me..... Seeing history in the making....
Seeing just how easy it is to turn whole sections of the community into
blinded racist fascists..... I wasn't alive for WWII..... Through research I was
able to gather how things progressed..... Seeing it first hand is another
story tho........ How people can say some of these things and be backed up
by scores of others echoing the same garbage is amazing.

People need to listen to what they are saying a bit more.

One thing I find pretty funny is how all the same people who wanted the
war now say how they knew it was a bad idea all along..... and what's this
about how Iraq should have been properly bombed and removed from the
earth.... Is it Iraq's fault that the US invaded now? What did they do? Did
they attack the US, Israel, or Saudi Arabia? Where were those 320,000
troops that attacked Kuwait..... Not on the satellite photos....

oh btw.... Arab does not equal Muslim and Muslim does not equal Arab.
There are actually a great deal more south-east asians who are Muslims.

So I guess if I want to fit in with everyone.... I should hate all south-east
asians and call them all terrorists. Then I can be cool with all the others.
