Live and multitrack recording - pops and clicks

Hi everyone,

Anyone else tried multitrack recording in Live? I have had some issues trying to record a 16-track drum set in the studio with Live.

Specs:
Ableton Live Suite (V8 and V9 tested)
Apple iMac (mid 2011, Intel i7 2.8, 8 GB RAM)
Mac OS 10.7, latest release
Soundcard: Focusrite Liquid Saffire 56 (latest firmware)

Problem is that there are pops and clicks throughout all the recorded tracks, no matter the setting of the audio buffer (tested ranges: 128-1024 samples).

When I recreate the set in Logic, multitrack recording works flawlessly.

Anyone else experienced this behaviour?

Ok, it's a while since I posted this, but I've got a project coming up and I'm still wondering if anyone could explain this behaviour..?
