Using Addictive Drums in Ableton

Post by tkarmakid » Mon Jan 19, 2015 6:22 am

Does anybody know how I can use AD in Ableton?

So far I can start it up as a stand alone, but I want to use it in Ableton like a vst. Is this possible? and how?

Please excuse if this has been posted already, I did do a quick search and didn't see anything.

Thanks!

You need to locate the Addictive Drums VST .dll file and copy it to your VST folder - it will then appear in your 'plugins' list.

It was a while ago, but I think I had to search 'addictive' in windows explorer when the installer for AD changed and wouldn't let you specify a file path.

Hope that helps.

I did try moving the dll into the folder and rescanning, turning off and on. Even though its is in the folder with all of my other vsts, it still doesn't show up in live 9s plugin browser.
That is a good trick that worked with solving problems with other vsts though. Thanks for the help anyway.
I have emailed xln, hopefully they will get back to me with something. I'll keep you posted. In the meantime though if you have any other ideas, I would be happy to hear them.

Only other thing I can think of is are the version of AD and Live the same (i.e. both 32bit or 64bit)?
