Export clean loop with custom crossfade

Post by NickDesigner » Wed Jan 21, 2015 8:12 pm

Hi everyone,

Working in sound design, I regularly need to build and export loops of ambient or environmental sound. I typically custom build a loop using multiple tracks by copying and pasting into another track, then cross fade the two. (I can be more specific if need be).

I recently realized how perfect the loop feature is in Sampler - it allows you to cross-fade the loop with itself and specify loop start and end points. Is it possible to just do this in the arrange view within a clip? Or maybe there is a M4L plugin someone has built to do this?

Or if this isn't possible, maybe the Ableton team would be interested in adding this feature to the next version? ;-)

Basically the final product needs to be a loop that I can bring into another software (Qlab in this case), and it will loop seamlessly - and I have specified where and for how long it cross-fades within itself.

thanks!
Nick

Yes, there are cross fade markers within the clip. You can even crossfade two clips in one track on arrangement view
