There are also other alternative bridge solutions.

You realize I already posted that one, right? Not that it shouldn't be posted often. It was just a tad odd to repost an already posted link uncommented.

Oh, you're welcome. As Ableton have updated their position mid 2014 it can only be a good thing to make sure more people do read that instead of believing things based on an out of date interpretation of the old Ableton position.

It does seem clear that as we move forward 64bit all trough all of the software we use will slowly but surely become the norm. In the music world there's bound to be many that postpone this transition as long as is justifiable for them.
I suppose older, still working and great sounding hardware without 64bit drivers are one of the bigger obstacles not given up easily as well as very usable older 32bit-only software that will cost a lot of money to replace/update.

You'd be surprised how many new apps are still 32 bit for everyday use. Few DAW developers make programs only for 64 bit. The rest give you options.
Bridging a 32 bit plug in a 64 bit DAW uses more resources as well.

I was thinking of the situation on OS X especially and companies like Native Instruments that largely seem to have abandoned 32bits. When they did that they compelled me to move with them.
Things might be different on the Windows platform, but there's still an undeniable trend leading to that 32bit software soon will not be the norm, if that isn't true already. I don't think 32bit software will disappear at all, but 64bit will replace it as the norm at some point.

I'm sure it does but not as warm as if you apply an 8bit crusher at the master. Try it!
