Cannot get Trigger Finger to trigger sounds in Impulse

Post by davide » Fri Aug 26, 2005 1:19 am

I'm running Live 4 on a mac G4 with an M-Audio Trigger Finger. I cannot get the Trigger Finger to trigger sounds in Impulse when i hit the Trigger Finger drum pads. Any suggestions? The Trigger Finger works fine to trigger audio clips, but i can't get it to trigger midi sounds in Impulse. Help.

I think there are two different things here: To fire clips, your trigger finger is seen as a MIDI controller by live. To trigger impulse sounds, it has to be seen as a MIDI keyboard, and the pads as notes. So first, you'll need to tell Live that the Trigger Finger is a midi keyboard in the Preferences/MIDI pane.
Then you'll need to make sure the pads output notes in the C3/C4 range, and set monitor to ON or AUTO on the track where impulse is, depending if you armed record or not.
Hope this is clear enough and at least a little helpfull.....
Best,
