Skip forward or back one beat?

Post by sdmiddleton » Thu Jan 29, 2015 12:29 pm

Hi All,

Very serious question here, would really help me out!

My band played a live gig last night. Typical band setup, drums, bass and keys with an ableton backing track that's sending a click to the drummer.

One track was a total disaster due to a click issue, not sure what happened but by the first Chorus he was the he was playing the first beat to the second on the click track. He's a great drummer so it's not down to poor playing, these things happen!

My question is, is there anyway to tell ableton to in time just skip all track in the session view one beat ahead or back?

As the songs are all in sections, verse, chorus etc, my initial thought was to change the launch timing from bars to beats so I could fire the next section off again quickly after the first beat, and then we'll be back in business, but ideally I would love ableton to just jump forward or back by a beat increment, so;

I guess the command would be; all clips on the push of a button retrigger current beat without relaunching the whole clip?

Perhaps there's a script or clyphx solution to this?

Any ideas, much appreciated!

Cheers!
