ASIO Driver not working no matter what I do
Hello all. I'm here because it is my last option. I have tried everything to get my ASIO Driver working again. Not only in Ableton but also in FL Studio it doesn't work. both ASIO4ALL and Realtek ASIO do not work. I have tried re installing ASIO too with no luck. I have no idea what to do and the only thing I can do to still produce music is by using my MME/DirectX which works but as you all know has a delay which makes using my launchpad and launchkey impossible because i cant play melodies or ideas on them at real time speed. I really need my ASIO driver working please help. All is appreciated!

Did you hit the configure button to see what channels are turned off and on?
Some computers have more than one channel output. It might be using 1&2 where your speakers might be 3&4. Things like that.
Also, in some cases windows will interfere with the sound and cause it to cut off and be inactive. You have to go into windoes properties and either turn off the output you intend to use or designate a different Default Audio channel. Or something to that nature. Otherwise what sometimes happens is you'll be using ASIO and, the moment a windows sound chimes in or you play a song on your MP3 player, or open up youtube, your asio cuts off until either it resets or you restart the entire computer.
Yeah... I guess that sounds pretty fiddly from the perspectice of anyone who hasn't managed those issues before haha. Fucking windows
love-hate relationship!

Re: ASIO Driver not working no matter what I do
I used to have this problem all the time, but I finally figured out what causes it. I have Ableton set to a sample rate of 48k, but Windows by default uses 41.1k. So every time I used Ableton, I could not use any other sound app (e.g. iTunes) if Ableton had been launched, unless I rebooted. I would get no sound from the other apps until then.yur2die4 wrote:Also, in some cases windows will interfere with the sound and cause it to cut off and be inactive. Now, I can run iTunes, YouTube, SoundCloud, MediaPlayer, and Ableton, pretty much anything, simultaneously and in any order. And no more reboots!! The trick is to go into the Windows sound properties and change your sample rate to match whatever you're using in Ableton.
Just a few days ago, Windows released an update that changed the sound properties back to the default, so if you just started experiencing this issue, it could be caused by that patch. Just go back into Windows sound properties and put every thing back the way you had it.

WORKING:
I had the same problem, but in "Hardware Setup" I chose another option for the output.

I had the same issue. New laptop and new ableton 11 standard. Asio was set to 48k, but in my ableton preferences, directly below the audio drivers section, in the SAMPLE RATE section was set to 44.1k. I switched that to 48k and it worked.
