I did the same, bought Omni 1 a while back (but within the grace period for the free upgrade) and I must say that it is by far my favorite VST (chill/lounge/world/trance).

I was quite pleasantly surprised to find that Omni is a very competent synthesizer in its owns right, I read so many forums where people were calling it a rompler...guess I became misguided.

Somewhat blindly, I sold my Technics to purchase Omni just because of the hype and I must say I love it. I truly enjoy building sounds from the synthesizer and the sampled synthesizers.... so many possibilities within one plug-in.

AND NOW 2 IS COMING OUT...

I agree, just have never been able to justify the price. Same is true with Altiverb, and it could be argued with those two and Suite you have nearly everything covered.

G.A.S. is a powerful addiction, and we here are by no means an anonymous self help group, we are the ENABLERS!

Very excited about Omni2 myself, it was more or less my go to synth for many years. I started to get a little burned out on it after awhile, but the new features look great and will definitely have me diving in again.

I'm supposed to be getting a copy for review when it's released, I'll be sure to post it here too.

I must admit that I am likely under the influence of the Omni kool-Aid (im drinking it heavily) as the novelty of the product is still fresh. I am fairly impressed however at the speed at which I can pump out a groove that "sounds" totally original to me (after modulation); I tell myself that the chances of someone else actually tweaking things the exact same way are slim. I end up with something that I enjoy listening to which is paramount to my production. If this is only a phase then I am sure as hell going to enjoy it while its here

I am halfway through a medical degree and this stupid program has become a formidable challenge to my study habitz..... suddenly having a career and helping others doesn't sound so great

sigh.....then comes Omni 2..

Gameface ;/
